Rohit Kumar (Aamir Khan) is an aspirant playback singer while Kiran (Manisha Koirala) is a classical singer-in-training, but at inside aims to be some thing like Rohit. They meet, relate to each other's sentiments and fall in love. But when Kiran's parents oppose their marriage, they decide to lead a seperate life. However, after their marriage, Kiran's ambitions take a back seat as she feels suppressed by her household responsibilities and her child's look after. Time fails to abate Kiran's frustration until she decides to leave Rohit and start a new life all over again. Now-a-loner, Rohit is forced to look after both his son and his falling career on his own, and that too at the same time. After some obvious teething troubles, Rohit succeeds in creating a seperate world of their own with Sonu, his son. Meanwhile, Kiran incidentally becomes a huge film star. She then tries to reconcilliate but as luck would have it, Rohit, an ego-centric man, misinterprets her support as her pity and things become worse. Having had enough, Kiran decides to call the marriage off and also files a case demanding Sonu's custody. Rohit, unlike Kiran, faces a real tough time preparing for the case. But as case continues, Kiran realises Rohit's importance for Sonu and vice-versa. However, the court as expected gives orders in Kiran's favour. But in the end, Kiran decides to compensate for all her mistakes and Rohit and she decide to start afresh all over again.

Maharaj Singh is a proud owner of several derby-winning stallions, and lives in a palatial farmhouse with his wife, Rukmini and young son, Chimpoo. Maan Singh swears to avenge the death of his son, and abducts Chimpoo. Years later, a servant of Maharaj, Ram Singh, brings a young man named Badal into the Singhs lives, and tells them that he is their missing son Chimpoo. Both Maharaj, Rukmini, and their daughter, Sunita, are delighted at having Chimpoo back in their lives. Then Badal and Sunita fall in love with each other. It is then Badal confesses to Maharaj that he is not Chimpoo, but a former convicted jailbird, who was asked to impersonate him by an embittered Ram Singh. Maharaj does not want to relay this information to an ailing Rukmini, and decides to keep it quiet for the rest of their lives. But sooner or later Rukmini is bound to find out - especially when Badal and Sunita openly show their love - will this shock of an intimate brother and a sister spare her or has fate something else in store for her.

Mahesh Anand and Major Verma have a number of things in common. One: Both are in the army; both are from well-off families; and both look-alike. He meets with Verma's mom, Mrs. Verma, as well as his ailing wife, Ruma. Unable to break the news of Verma's death and shatter their fragile world, Mahesh gets mistaken as Verma and is welcomed home. This creates complications in Mahesh's life as his sweetheart, Meeta, thinks that Mahesh no longer loves her. Then Ruma finds out that her husband is in love with another woman. Mahesh finds himself in a deep quandary, for he is unable to confide to anyone, and the only one who can assist him find his way back to his own life and family - is Major Verma.

Durgaprasad Bhardwaj is a wealthy widower who lives a lavish lifestyle in a palatial home. He has only one child, a daughter by the name of Janki. He would like Janki to get married to a young man of equal status, however, Janki falls in love with a middle-class youth named Jaiprakash Paswan. Despite of Durgaprasad's vehement objections, the couple get married, and soon Janki gives birth to a baby. Jaiprakash would like the child to live with him, however, he does not have the means to support the child. To remove any doubt, Durgaprasad gets a Court Order giving custody and care to Janki. When the child grows up, Janki has her hands full, so they hire a nanny by the name of Laxmi Godbhole, who is middle-aged and seems to have a way with children and adults alike. Durgaprasad too is impressed with Laxmi and falls in love with her. What Janki and Durgaprasad do not know is that Laxmi leads a double life, also being wooed by landlord Hariharan. Watch as events unfold and one gets to view the other side of Laxmi, and the impact this will have on the child, Janki and Durgaprasad.

Post Summery:
Shobha Mathur lives a wealthy lifestyle with her Professor dad, who is now carrying out experiments on various issues. One day while doing so, he makes an employee named Manohar drink a portion, which results in his death. Rajan comes to their rescue, gets rid of the body, and starts blackmailing Mathur, which can only end when Shobha marries Rajan. Then one day Shobha meets a poet by the name of Sudarshan and both of them fall in love. When he asks for her hand in marriage, Shobha refuses. The next day Shobha finds a note addressed to her from Sudarshan in which he has stated that he is going to kill himself. Thereafter, every night she starts to hear Sudarshan's voice, blaming her for his death, as his soul is unable to find solace. With Sudarshan out of the way, Rajan readies himself for marrying Shobha - and it looks like he may have his way with the Mathurs after all - without having to encounter any more obstacles.
